During the game fans can text ‘WIZARDS’ to 32075 to receive exclusive deals and info on 2011 season tickets to help celebrate the new stadium. Plus each text is an entry for a chance to win autographed Manchester United jersey!

Typically I write about industry issues and company news pertaining to Moblico, but today is the start of something that is a little different and holds a lot of personal importance to me. A short while ago we placed a billboard on our headquarters that officially launched our “Mobile Responsibly” initiative:

Our intent is to heighten awareness around some of the issues that accompany mobile technology adoption. Moblico is constantly announcing new and exciting mobile solutions, but we wholeheartedly believe that it is our duty to promote proper and intelligent usage along with it. Afterall, success and safety/respect go hand in hand.
Or as we put it, “With empowering technology comes great responsibility.”
In the months to come we will be announcing efforts that support all of the areas we feel are a part of responsible mobile use. But for now, “Don’t text and drive!”

Today we announced a fun, very unique mobile promotion with Fugate Enterprises, one of the top 10 franchisees in the Pizza Hut, Blockbuster and Taco Bell chain system. In collaboration with United Marketing Communications, we are managing a mobile voting competition in which Western Kentucky University students get to weigh-in about whether a Taco Bell or Pizza Hut will be built near campus:

Fugate Enterprises Launches First-of-its-Kind Mobile Voting Campaign, Allowing Students to Decide Which Restaurant will be Built Near the WKU Campus
Kansas City, MO, April 6, 2010 – Fugate Enterprises, one of the top 10 franchisees of Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, today announced the launch of its mobile voting promotion in which the students of Western Kentucky University have a say regarding whether a Taco Bell or Pizza Hut will be built near campus. From April 1st through April 17th, WKU students are able to cast their votes by texting WKU4 PH (Pizza Hut) or WKU4 TB (Taco Bell) to 32075.
“We have been operating 270 Pizza Huts and Taco Bells for over 30 years. This time, we wanted to let the community we will be serving choose which particular one they want,” said Sergio Roman, Marketing Director of Fugate Enterprises. “This will be a fun, unique way for us to promote our new location, as well as give the students the opportunity to voice what they prefer via the medium that would allow the best direct interaction- mobile.”
Fugate will be promoting the campaign to WKU students through marketing initiatives provided by United Marketing Communications (UMC), a leading provider of marketing services specializing in the restaurant and food services industry. Banners announcing the voting campaign will be displayed at the WKU vs. South Alabama baseball game April 9th, as well as at the WKU vs. Louisville baseball game on April 14th. Giveaways that feature printed information about the promotion will also help notify the students about their chance to vote.
Moblico Solutions, a provider of integrated mobile offerings that support and extend customer relationships, is managing the voting process for the Fugate WKU competition. WKU students can vote April 1st through April 17th. Once a vote is cast, a confirmation message is sent back indicating that a vote of “PH” or “TB” was recorded. Competition results will be announced by the end of April.
I can’t wait to see who wins this ground-breaking (both literal and figurative!!) competition! Good luck to both brands.
